To Remove Old Sealant can be a tedious task. This is mainly due to the solvents in sealants which etch into the base material to allow the sealant to bond. Trying to remove the old sealant then becomes extremely difficult. To add to the difficult task normally there is a large depth of sealant first applied.

                                  

The two most common ways of removing old sealant is mechanically or chemically, both take a considerable length of time but also create a lot of damage to the surrounding materials, for example to use a putty knife or scrapper to try and remove old silicone or sealant from around a bath will result in scoring or scratching the bath or tiles. Likewise, by trying a solvent or thinners to remove old sealant the damage by burning or staining is very high.

                        

The solution to remove old silicone or sealant is CT1 Multisolve. Multisolve is a unique, fast acting but safe multi-purpose solvent specifically developed to remove old sealants and adhesives. CT1 Multisolve is produced from the aliphatic solvent family commonly known as the friendly solvents. Why is this so? Being a hydro carbon aliphatic it will not burn or stain and is gentle for the user, however as a unique C-Tec formulation will quickly detach the molecular bond of old sealants. Simply spray Multisolve onto the old sealant, wait 5/10 minutes and remove, once the old sealant has been removed the perfect product to reseal with is the unique CT1 sealant and construction adhesive.
