A Universal Bath Sealant

  16 August 2011

CT1 unique sealant is without question the ultimate universal bath sealant. There are so many sealants available to seal baths but “which one do you use”? is a common question. Why are there so many bath sealants to choose from if they all do the same job? The most common bath sealant used is the basic silicone sealant.

Everybody has experienced the end result of silicone over a period of time. This is more prevalent in baths or bathrooms. The silicone bath sealant will start to shrink and detach from the bath. It will often go mouldy as bacteria starts to breed. One would then question why a silicone bath sealant is so commonly used. I suppose the only answer to that is price,
silicone bath sealants can be purchased for as little as £1.00. There are other more expensive versions of bath sealants such as acrylic that have less shrinkage and better adhesion but still will allow mould or bacteria to breed.

CT1 Sealant and construction adhesive is the ultimate universal bath sealant for a multitude of difficult applications. CT1 bath sealant is a unique hybrid polymer for premium sealing and bonding. CT1 sealant contains no solvents so therefore will never shrink. CT1 sealant is 100% voc free so it’s impossible for mould or bacteria to breed. When a tradesman normally seals around a new bath he half fills the bath and applies the silicone bath sealant to allow for expansion, after the silicone sealant cures he empties the bath and tests for leaks. When using CT1 bath sealant this is not necessary as the CT1 sealant has excellent adhesion, strength and flexibility. CT1 sealant is odourless and very environmentally friendly.

We are quite sure that CT1 bath sealant is the only bath sealant that will also act as a super strong construction adhesive. For example CT1 will bond shower trays, mirrors to walls, sink and bath fittings, tiles and a multitude of different materials. Before applying CT1 bath sealant it is advisable to remove any old silicone sealant which is a difficult task. The perfect product for this is our CT1 Multisolve.

CT1 bath sealant comes in a standard cartridge but also in a handy aerosol that requires no caulking gun. This aerosol version called CT1 No Gun is very easy to use and will create “blob” free beads around the bath.
