How to Stick Plastic to Metal

  12 August 2011

We at C-Tec are frequently asked, Will CT1 The Snag List Eliminator Stick Plastic to Metal?
This question is asked so frequently because one of the most difficult tasks to undertake is to Stick Plastic to Metal. Well the answer to the question, will CT1 Stick Plastic to Metal? Is yes.
CT1 will Stick most Plastics to Metal very successfully. Acrylics, pvc, polycarbonate, bakelight, etc pose no challenge.   The only plastic which won’t stick is polypropylene, but that’s no surprise as polypropylene is impossible to bond.
When Sticking Plastic to Metal with conventional adhesives the bond is only short-term as the adhesive lacks flexibility, the bond with CT1 will be permanent as CT1 remains constantly flexible.
In preparation to Sticking Plastic to Metal it is advantageous to key (roughen) the plastic with a dense grade glass paper. In addition, clean the plastic with C-Tec’s Multisolve .
Multisolve is a safe non-aggressive solvent, ideal in the removal of oxidation in plastics and metal.
